Practise Makes Perfect.

I also today thought about how terrible I am at illustration and how the only way to get better at something is keep trying it, to practise so this is exactly what I did today. I started out by drawing a few cartoons in a sketchbook, scanned them in and played around with colour on photoshop. I'm actually quite surprised that they don't look like complete rubbish but obviously still needs a bit of work. This properly took me about 45 minutes to an hour or so to do all three.
